UAE fuel prices in October 2026 by grade
The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced the October prices on Wednesday 30 September, to take effect on 1 October. The table shows the four grades per litre, with the September and August figures beside them.
The October and September columns come from Gulf News. The August column is the one Gulf News printed in its September report, when it compared that month with August.
How prices have moved since August
Petrol went up twice in a row. Super 98 rose AED 0.20 in September and AED 0.60 in October, and diesel rose AED 0.50 and then AED 0.50.
Measured from August, our arithmetic puts Super 98 up 22.2% and diesel up 26.3%. Gulf News gave its percentage changes only against September.
For readers who drive between the emirates, the rise lands on top of tolls. Our Salik charges guide and Darb Abu Dhabi guide set out the toll costs in each emirate, and the Dubai to Abu Dhabi guide compares driving with the bus and train.
Fuel prices month by month since November 2025
Gulf News keeps a historical table of the monthly prices, which it showed as updated on 21 October 2026. The page does not print the unit, but its October row matches the committee figures in litres, so we read the table as AED per litre.
| Month | Super 98 | Special 95 | E-Plus 91 | Diesel |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| October (2026) | AED 4.40 | AED 4.28 | AED 4.21 | AED 4.80 |
| September (2026) | AED 3.80 | AED 3.69 | AED 3.61 | AED 4.30 |
| August (2026) | AED 3.60 | AED 3.49 | AED 3.41 | AED 3.80 |
| July (2026) | AED 3.40 | AED 3.29 | AED 3.21 | AED 3.60 |
| June (2026) | AED 3.95 | AED 3.83 | AED 3.76 | AED 4.33 |
| May (2026) | AED 3.66 | AED 3.55 | AED 3.48 | AED 4.69 |
| April (2026) | AED 3.39 | AED 3.28 | AED 3.20 | AED 4.69 |
| March (2026) | AED 2.59 | AED 2.48 | AED 2.40 | AED 2.72 |
| February (2026) | AED 2.45 | AED 2.33 | AED 2.26 | AED 2.52 |
| January (2026) | AED 2.53 | AED 2.42 | AED 2.34 | AED 2.55 |
| December (2025) | AED 2.70 | AED 2.58 | AED 2.51 | AED 2.85 |
| November (2025) | AED 2.63 | AED 2.51 | AED 2.44 | AED 2.67 |
Two things stand out in that table by our arithmetic. Super 98 has risen from AED 2.45 in February to AED 4.40 in October, a gain of about 80%. And July fell back to AED 3.40 after a June peak of AED 3.95, so the August to October rises started from a low.
Diesel followed a different path. It held at AED 4.69 in April and May, fell to AED 4.33 in June and AED 3.60 in July, then climbed again to AED 4.80.
What a full tank costs
Khaleej Times worked out full-tank costs from average tank sizes: 51 litres for a compact car, 62 for a sedan and 74 for an SUV. It said a tank of petrol now costs between AED 30.09 and AED 44.40 more than in September.
| Car size | Super 98 | Special 95 | E-Plus 91 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compact, 51 L | AED 224.40 | AED 218.28 | AED 214.71 |
| Sedan, 62 L | AED 272.80 | AED 265.36 | AED 261.02 |
| SUV, 74 L | AED 325.60 | AED 316.72 | AED 311.54 |
These are October totals for an empty tank, per Khaleej Times. Your own tank size will differ, so multiply the litre price by your capacity.
How the monthly price is set
Gulf News says the committee reviews prices at the close of each month, in line with prevailing trends in global energy markets. Khaleej Times adds that prices follow the average global oil price, with the distribution companies’ operating costs on top, and that the Ministry of Energy approves them.
Khaleej Times linked October’s increase to crude trading near $107 a barrel on 29 September. Gulf News gave no reason for the rise.
The September prices were also announced at month end, so we expect the November prices around the end of October. That is our inference from the pattern, not a published date.
Where the sources differ
Three small differences between the reports are worth knowing before you quote a figure, because they affect the grade name, the stated reason and the source behind the numbers.
- Grade name: Gulf News calls the third grade E-Plus 91 in October and E-Plus petrol in September.
- Reason: Khaleej Times cites crude near $107 a barrel, while Gulf News names none.
- Source: Emirates247’s page carried only a one-line note that the revised rates apply from 1 October, with no figures in its text.
What we could not confirm
Several points stay open after our reading, because no government page carried the announcement and only media reports were available.
- The committee’s own announcement text.
- The November 2026 prices, which have not been announced.
- The unit on the Gulf News history table, which we read as AED per litre.
- Why diesel moved by different amounts from petrol.
