Qatar is home to a splendid and sprawling park known as Al Rayyan Park. In other words, Al Rayyan Park is described as “Al Bisat Al Akhdar” which is a rendition of the term “Green Carpet”. The space is a generous 130,000 m2 of land blanketed in greenery and is located at the intersection of the New Al Rayyan Road and the Al Shamal Road within the city centre.

Rayyan Park has been a part of the park system of Doha for some time. Rayyan Park went through an extensive facelift and significant facelift in 2015. Ashghal, which is the Public Works Authority of Qatar, along with the Al Rayyan Municipality spent some time to beautify the park. They made it out of the walking paths, added new lighting, made strong & firm fences, and a jogging track.
They made the park friendly to people in wheelchairs after the 2015 renovation. All of the main pathways have ramps and asphalt surfaces. The works took effect on time for the celebrations of Qatar National Day.

This newer park was inaugurated in 2004 on Al Atouriya Street. With a size of 8,827 square meters, this park contains various new additions. It includes a children’s play area, and within its confines is a small cafeteria which provides families with snacks and drinks. The park is shaded by numerous date palm trees and brightened with multicolored flower beds which make it lovely. This fun and refreshing park are open from 6:00 AM and close at 11:00 PM every day.
