Ajman parking timing is 8am to 1pm and 5pm to 10pm, Saturday to Thursday, according to a Gulf News report of 21 June 2025. Parking is free on Fridays and public holidays. To pay by phone, text 5155 or use the AjmanOne app.
On 27 October 2026 we read the parking service card that the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department publishes on the Digital Ajman portal, and five news reports. The card’s page footer shows a last update of 16 October 2026. We did not park or send a test text. The card sets out fees and payment but gives no hours, so the hours come from the press. This is general information, not official advice.

Ajman parking timing, block by block
Ajman charges in two blocks a day, not one. The free afternoon in the middle is the part that catches drivers used to other emirates.
Our Dubai parking timings guide covers the Dubai rules for comparison. Sharjah next door now charges until midnight; see our Sharjah parking timings guide.
| When | Do you pay? |
|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday, 8am to 1pm | Yes |
| Saturday to Thursday, 1pm to 5pm | No, on the rule as reported |
| Saturday to Thursday, 5pm to 10pm | Yes |
| Every night, 10pm to 8am | No, on the rule as reported |
| Friday, all day | No |
| Official public holiday | No |
| Ramadan 2026, Saturday to Thursday | Yes, 9am to 1pm and 8pm to midnight |
Sunday is an ordinary paid day, because the blocks run Saturday to Thursday. Gulf News names only the paid blocks, so the free afternoon and night are an inference. An Arabic reference site, uae.wiki, prints a table of the same blocks that also marks 1pm to 5pm and 10pm to 8am as free, and credits the municipality. We could not open the original. Gulf News also said the hours “generally” run this way, so the sign beside the bay is the final word.
Rival guides do not all agree. A few print one unbroken block ending at 8pm, 9pm or 10pm, and one says city-centre zones may run to 11pm or later. We found none of that in a news report or on the municipal card, so we kept to the two-block rule.
Drivers meet the same doubt on the street. In April 2026 a post on r/Ajman (5 upvotes) asked:
“Parking timing in Ajman is supposed to start at 8 AM, but I got fined at 6:30 AM … Has this happened to anyone else? Should I try to object it?”
– r/Ajman, April 2026 (5 upvotes)
The post is a screenshot and we could not check the fine. It shows why the sign and your payment record matter.
Gulf News also wrote that some areas near parks are free daily from 4pm to 1am. We could not confirm that with the municipality. The same window matches the opening hours it set for Ajman’s public parks in Ramadan 2026, as Gulf News reported on 20 February 2026. Read the sign before relying on it.
Ramadan, Eid and new paid streets
Ramadan moves the blocks. For 2026 the municipality set two shifts from Saturday to Thursday, 9am to 1pm and 8pm to midnight, according to Gulf News on 20 February 2026. Parking was free from 1pm to 8pm, on Fridays and on public holidays.
One rival guide had predicted 8am to 2pm for the first shift, so predicted hours are worth ignoring until the announcement.
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, as our Ramadan 2027 guide explains. We found no Ajman parking notice for it yet.
Eid brings free days. For Eid Al Adha 2026 the municipality waived fees from Tuesday 26 May to Friday 29 May, and paid parking resumed on Saturday 30 May, Khaleej Times reported on 23 May 2026. In 2025 the free spell ran from Thursday 5 June to Sunday 8 June. Announcements arrive a few days ahead, and our UAE public holidays guide lists the official dates.
The paid map has grown too. On 21 June 2025 the municipality switched on 1,263 new paid spaces on four streets.
- Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Street, near Garden City Towers.
- Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi Street, near Ajman Pearl Towers.
- Al Baraa bin Malik Street.
- Osama bin Zaid Street.
Drivers who parked free on any of them before that date now pay.
What a ticket costs, from the municipality’s card
The Parking Reservation Request card on Digital Ajman lists the fees. We opened its fees tab on 27 October 2026.
| Ticket | Regular bay | VIP bay |
|---|---|---|
| Half an hour | AED 1 | AED 3 |
| One hour | AED 2 | AED 6 |
| One hour by text, du or e& | AED 2.38 | Not stated |
For tickets of half an hour to five hours, the card gives a range of AED 1 to AED 10 for regular bays and AED 3 to AED 30 for VIP. It prints no price for each step in between.
VIP bays cost three times the regular rate, and the card does not say how they are marked, so check the sign.
The text costs 38 fils more than the machine ticket for the same hour.
One rival guide prints AED 5 for two hours, AED 8 for three and AED 15 for all day. None of those figures is on the Ajman card. The first two match Sharjah’s text prices, which we checked on the Sharjah Municipality parking FAQ, so we left all three out.
Paying by text to 5155 or in the AjmanOne app
The card gives two routes. Sign in to the AjmanOne app with UAE Pass, or text 5155. The app asks for the vehicle, then the duration. By text you send the vehicle code and the duration under the approved SMS procedure. Either way a notification confirms the session and shows when it expires.
The card does not print the text format. Rival guides give AJM B 12345 followed by the hours, but they differ on the field order. One says the machine and the zone signs print the exact format. Copy it from there the first time, then save the message.
The session belongs to the vehicle you choose. Anyone who swaps a rental or company car should change the plate in the app or the saved text before parking. Otherwise the payment covers a car no longer in use.
Long-term tickets and annual cards
Drivers who park daily can buy a 10-day ticket for AED 100, a 20-day ticket for AED 200 or a 30-day ticket for AED 300. The annual cards cost more up front.
| Card | Quarterly | Half-year | Annual |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer card, first car | AED 780 | AED 1,400 | AED 2,350 |
| Customer card, second car | AED 300 | AED 600 | AED 1,200 |
| VIP card | AED 1,500 | AED 3,000 | AED 6,000 |
| Government or bank, first card | AED 300 | AED 600 | AED 1,200 |
| Government or bank, second card | AED 150 | AED 300 | AED 600 |
A resident asked the question in October 2026 on r/Ajman (2 upvotes):
“So recently the parking around my place got converted to paid parking. How do I make an annual or monthly pass for my vehicle so I don’t have to worry about getting a fine ? The area is a commercial area, not a residential one.”
– r/Ajman, October 2026 (2 upvotes)
The card answers it: the 30-day ticket or an annual customer card, applied for in AjmanOne. The post does not say which of the two the poster chose.
Four groups get a one-year card free: senior Emiratis, people of determination, Emirati citizens living in a building (first and second card) and environmentally friendly vehicles. Annual permits are issued through the Emirates Parking service inside AjmanOne.
Our own arithmetic shows who gains.
At AED 2 an hour, the 30-day ticket equals 150 paid hours. A month holds about 26 paid days once the Fridays are removed, so the ticket pays off above roughly six paid hours a day. Park less than that and hourly tickets cost less. The sum ignores public holidays and Eid breaks, which would favour hourly tickets, and assumes hourly tickets stay at AED 2.
Fines
We found no Ajman parking fine schedule. The card lists no penalty amounts. One rival guide says fines run up to AED 150, and another declines to quote a figure because the numbers that circulate are old. Digital Ajman lists a separate “Payment of fines” service under the municipality, which we did not open. That is where to look for the real amount on your plate.
Payment records matter when a fine looks wrong. In February 2026 a driver on r/Ajman (9 upvotes) wrote:
“I received 2 parking fines in Ajman the same day. Both times I put the parking using the Ajman One app. I even received the invoices and the payment confirmation. I have already raised a dispute on the Ajman Police app.”
– r/Ajman, February 2026 (9 upvotes)
That is one driver’s account and we could not check how it ended. The lesson is practical: keep the confirmation until the session has expired and the car has left.
Questions drivers ask
Is Ajman parking timing different on Sunday?
No. Sunday sits inside the Saturday-to-Thursday rule, so both paid blocks apply. Only Friday and official public holidays are free, apart from announced Eid breaks.
Is Ajman parking free between 1pm and 5pm?
On the rule as reported, yes. Gulf News names the paid blocks, and the Arabic reference table marks the gap as free. In Ramadan 2026 the free window was longer, 1pm to 8pm. Check the sign, since Gulf News said the hours “generally” run this way.
Is parking free on Fridays in Ajman?
Yes. Gulf News and Khaleej Times both reported on 21 June 2025 that Ajman parking is free on Fridays and public holidays, and the Ramadan 2026 report repeated it.
As of 27 October 2026 the reported rule is paid 8am to 1pm and 5pm to 10pm, Saturday to Thursday, and free on Fridays and public holidays, with Ramadan and Eid notices overriding it.
