The Al Aweer immigration office is listed by GDRFA Dubai as “Public Services Section (Al Awir Center)”. Its official hours are Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 19:00, and Friday 07:30 to 12:00 and 14:30 to 19:00, with no Saturday or Sunday hours listed.
Three guides give 06:00 to 22:00 every day, but we could not find those hours on the GDRFA page we read on 5 October 2026.

Al Aweer immigration office hours
The hours below come from GDRFA’s Al Awir page, and the right-hand column shows what the guides say.
| Period | GDRFA’s page | Three guides |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 07:30 to 19:00 | 06:00 to 22:00 |
| Friday | 07:30 to 12:00 and 14:30 to 19:00 | 06:00 to 22:00 |
| Saturday and Sunday | No hours listed | 06:00 to 22:00 |
| Ramadan | 09:00 to 17:00; Friday 09:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00 | 07:00 to 17:00 (two guides) |
One of the three guides contradicts itself: its quick-facts table says every day from 06:00 to 22:00, while a later table says Sunday to Thursday, 07:30 to 15:30.
GDRFA lists no Saturday or Sunday hours, so a weekend visit stays a risk until a call confirms it. If you go on a Friday, plan around the gap between 12:00 and 14:30, and check the day and time against the table before you leave.
Phone, email and video call
The toll-free number is 8005111 and +971 4 313 9999 is the international line, and both appear on the Al Awir page and on GDRFA’s contact page.
That contact page also lists a video call with GDRFA officers, a complaints channel, a suggestions channel and an inquiry form. If you cannot get through by phone, the video call is the other official route, and the email address is amer@gdrfad.gov.ae.
Where the Al Aweer office sits among GDRFA centres
GDRFA’s centre directory lists nine customer service centres. Eight of them carry the same hours as Al Awir, and the exception is the Terminal 3 airport centre, which is listed as open 24/7.
| Centre | Area as listed | Hours listed |
|---|---|---|
| Al Awir | Al Awir | Mon to Thu 07:30 to 19:00; Fri split |
| Head office | Aljaffilya, behind Jaffilya Police Station, Bur Dubai | Same as Al Awir |
| Airport Services | Dubai Airport Terminal 3 | 24/7 |
| Airport Free Zone | Dubai Airport Free Zone, Al Tawar 2 | Same as Al Awir |
| Al Manara | Municipality building, Sheikh Zayed Road | Same as Al Awir |
| Al Tawar | Municipality new building, Al Tawar 2 | Same as Al Awir |
| Hatta | Hatta | Same as Al Awir |
| DIFC | Sheikh Zayed Road | Same as Al Awir |
| Alissely | Listed as “Allissily” | Same as Al Awir |
Against that background, a daily 06:00 to 22:00 schedule for Al Awir alone would be unusual, though we cannot rule out that the guides saw a different GDRFA notice. The Al Awir entry also has a “Google Map Link” that opened no map when we read it.
The contact page puts the head office at Al Jaffliya, next to the Bur Dubai Police Station and opposite the Jaffliya Metro station. The directory also lists an Amer centre branch in Al Awir, Falak Tayyeb Platinum Government Services, which sits among the Amer centres, not the GDRFA ones.
Our Dubai zip code guide covers the address problem for forms, and the first 30 days in a new Dubai apartment covers other new-resident tasks.
What we could not confirm about the Al Aweer immigration office
GDRFA’s page gives the area and a P.O. box only, so the items below come from guides and are not on it.
- A street address: two guides give Al Rowaiyah 3 near the Dubai-Hatta Road (E44).
- The services handled at this centre: guides list residency, visas, sponsorship and fines.
- A public transport route: two guides describe a bus from Centrepoint Metro Station.
- That it is “one of two main branches”: GDRFA lists nine centres.
- Weekend opening: the hours above are the only ones GDRFA gives.
