Demonicscans: Which Domain Is the Real Manga Reader?

9 Min Read

Demonicscans is an ad-supported reading site for English translations of manga, manhwa and manhua, and the name does not point to one place. Four registered domains carry it or a close copy, and only one of them serves the live library today.

demonicscans.org is the live one. Each of the four carries a registry record with a registration date, a registrar and a set of nameservers, and those three fields are what separate the working library from the copies and the parking pages.

What demonicscans is

Demonicscans is a chapter-by-chapter reader, not a publisher, and its own front page carries the evidence. Navigation runs from home and latest updates to new titles, our translations, advanced search, bookmarks, comments and reading history.

Discord is the only community link in that list. No app download appears anywhere in it.

Its catalogue is large and it moves daily. Latest translations on 4 October 2026 showed chapters posted on 3 October, from Peerless, True Sword, Reversal of No Mercy and The Hero’s Ballad. Most-viewed counters on the same page read 24,566,219 for Magic Emperor and 19,889,632 for Overgeared.

Readers meet two names for one library. Its front page is titled “Read Manga At demonicscans”, and the new-titles page is titled “Read Manga At Mangademon”.

The name is older than any of the addresses. A MangaUpdates member account under the same spelling was created in January 2015 and last active in October 2015, recruiting on its forum for a group called Demonic Scans.

Money comes from advertising and from an optional subscription. Buyers can remove the advertising through a “Zero Ads Subscription” sold at its own /premium.php address. The page does not print a price for it. Anyone whose subscription has not activated within 24 hours is asked to write to demonicscans@proton.me. A Discord account, slayer, is the second contact route.

Four domains answer to the name

We pulled the registry record for each domain that answers to the name. All four were then opened, on 4 October 2026. Three of them are not the reader, and the registration dates give that away.

demonicscans.org runs the library. Its record shows a registration on 9 Aug 2024 through the registrar eNom, with Cloudflare nameservers.

Chapters were live on the day we checked, the newest dated 3 October 2026.

demonscans.com drops the i from the name and is the oldest of the four. Registration there dates from 11 May 2020 through Spaceship, and the domain answered with HTTP 503, a maintenance page headed “We will be back shortly”, and no catalogue at all.

A Similarweb comparison of the two, labelled August 2026, covers engagement and not ownership. Average visits are estimated at 13 minutes 53 seconds on demonicscans.org and 34 seconds on demonscans.com.

demonicscans.online was registered on 6 Jun 2026. Its own description is “a reading access guide”, and it hosts no chapters.

A visitor who picks a category is sent to another site in a new browser tab.

demonicsscans.com is the one to watch. Registration dates from 29 Jul 2026 through NameCheap, and the record changed on 15 September 2026. Its front page carries the title “Demonicscans – Read Best Manga Online”, and the domain doubles the s.

Its library runs on WordPress with a manga reading theme. Titles on the shelf include Solo Leveling, Tower of God and Sakamoto Days. One section of the copy asks whether DemonicScans is safe to use.

Registration dates for four domains that use the demonicscans name, from 11 May 2020 to 29 Jul 2026
Registration dates taken from registry records, and the live response of each domain, on 4 October 2026.

Read the dates as a group. The oldest domain is dormant, the reader dates from 2024, and the two newest were registered in the middle of 2026, within eight weeks of each other, both copying the name.

The domain has moved before

Its address has changed at least once, and the trace sits in a public repository. Keiyoushi’s extensions-source project maintains the source definitions that reader apps use. A request logged there on 30 August 2024 is titled “Manga Demon changed to DemonicScans”, and it gave demonicscans.org as the new address for every reader app that carried the source.

A second request followed on 7 October 2024. Titled “MangaDemon Domain Changed”, it recorded a move the other way, from demonicscans.org to ciorti.online.

Contributors file those requests when a source stops working, so the pair is a dated trace of a site swapping addresses.

ciorti.online answered with an empty page when we checked it on 4 October 2026. Neither request names an owner, and neither is proof of ownership. Both are reports, not records.

Both requests landed inside two months.

Safety before an account or a payment

The registry check settles which address is which. What a page does once it loads is outside that record. Three things are worth weighing before you hand over an email address, an account or a payment.

No page we opened claims a licence for the series carried on the site. Footer links point to a terms page and a privacy page.

Both the “DMCA Notices” and “Content Policy” entries point at “#”. Neither entry points at a real page.

Payments run through the ad-removal subscription. Recovery for one that stalls runs through a Proton Mail address and a Discord handle. A notice on the site asks you to wait 24 hours and then write to demonicscans@proton.me.

A stuck payment is chased through an account name, not a support desk.

Lookalike risk is the part you can act on. Three of the four domains we checked are not the library. Registered on 29 Jul 2026, about two months before our check, the newest carries a page title that reproduces the demonicscans name.

A registry record is a record of a domain, not of a page. Whether a chapter page carries malicious advertising is outside its scope. Files behind the site can change hands with no trace in the record. An account made there can vanish next year. If the address is the only thing you can check, its age is the answer, because the registry date tells you whether the domain predates the copies or arrived with them.

Details that get mixed up

Is demonicscans the same as Mangademon?

Yes. Both names are on the same library. The front page reads “Read Manga At demonicscans”, and the new-titles page reads “Read Manga At Mangademon”.

Is the .org address the real site?

demonicscans.org was the only one of the four serving a working catalogue on 4 October 2026. Others returned a maintenance page, an access page with no chapters, or a library built on the copied name.

Does the site have an app?

No app link appears in the navigation. Discord is the only community link the site offers. App support comes from third-party extension repositories instead, which is how the domain-change requests reached a public tracker.

What happened to demonscans.com?

Older still is the .com address, registered on 11 May 2020, which answered with a maintenance page on 4 October 2026.
