Streameast is shut down, and the domains still trading on the name are unlicensed aggregators pulling the same fixtures from somebody else’s rights. A working Streameast alternative is a licensed route priced per game, not per month.
It starts at $4.99 for a day. Most guides on this subject open with a bundle near $89 a month, which is a real price and rarely the one that fits.

What happened to Streameast
The shutdown was announced on 4 September 2025. The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment said it had worked with police in Egypt to close a network visited more than 1.6 billion times in the previous year, as the BBC reported.
Enforcement moved faster than the brand. Eighty associated domains were transferred to ACE in an August 2025 operation, and the network had run through more than 120 of them in total, according to Piracy Monitor.
In July 2026 the Cairo Economic Court convicted two operators. Each was sentenced to two years in prison and fined EGP 5.5 million, about US$110,000, per defendant. Computers, phones, networking equipment and bank cards were confiscated, and the infringing domains were formally closed. Cable Network Egypt also won provisional civil compensation.
Domains bearing the name keep surfacing anyway. Piracy Monitor notes that shuttered sites commonly re-emerge under different domains and addresses, which is how a brand outlives the network that carried it.
Three checks that separate a licensed service from a copycat
A licensed distributor appears on the rights holder’s own list of outlets and collects money for access in some form, while an aggregator does neither.
The checks below take about a minute.
One: is it on the league’s list? The NFL’s Ways to Watch page names the access points the league recognises, among them Sunday Ticket, NFL+ Premium, Peacock, Paramount+ and ESPN. It also sets out the TV providers it works with: over-the-air broadcasts, YouTube TV, DirecTV, Xfinity, Spectrum, Hulu, Dish, Sling, Fios, Fubo and Optimum. A domain giving the same fixtures away for nothing is absent from that page. NFLBite does not appear on it either.
Two: who pays for the rights? A licensed line-up recovers the cost of those rights through subscriptions, carriage fees and the advertising sold on its own channels. A site handing over a premium feed for nothing recovers it another way, and that way is usually gambling.

Three: does the name predate the takedown or follow it? The network’s domains were closed and transferred during 2025. An app, a premium tier or a fresh domain wearing the name after that point belongs to somebody else.
The cheapest licensed route, by network
The cheapest licensed Streameast alternative depends on which network holds the game.
ESPN and ABC games. Monday Night Football and most SEC, ACC and Big 12 fixtures sit here. Sling’s own football links send ESPN games to its $4.99 one-day pass, the price shown on sling.com when we read it on 20 September 2026. A monthly Sling Orange plan is $45.99. Across a full month ESPN Unlimited costs $31.99, or $35.99 bundled with Disney+ and Hulu. It lists Monday Night Football, NFL Network and the ACC, Big 12 and SEC college games among what it carries.
FOX, ABC and NBC games. Sling routes those fixtures to Sling Select, listed on its plan page as starting at $19.99 a month. Sling’s Essentials plan costs the same and lists ESPN instead, so the two cheap plans do different jobs.
NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Peacock Premium carries live sport at $12.99 a month, and the same page sells an annual Premium plan at $129.99, twelve months for the price of ten. The $8.99 Select tier excludes sport.
CBS games. Paramount+ carries them, listed at $8.99 a month in MLive’s guide of 11 September 2026. Its own pricing page refused an automated read, so that figure is the guide’s rather than ours.
Big Ten, ACC and SEC networks. Conference networks sit inside the larger bundles. Fubo’s Pro plan was $88.99 a month and DirecTV Stream’s Choice plan $94.99 in the same guide, roughly eighteen times the price of one day of the same football.
Out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. Sunday Ticket is the access point the league lists for them.
Games on free television. Over-the-air broadcasts head the league’s own provider list. An aerial carries whatever the local ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC stations show, with no monthly bill attached.
For a season rather than a month, Sling sells a Season Pass of five months of football channels from $199.99, against the $380 it attributes to comparable bundles from other providers. The arithmetic on short bursts favours passes even more. Four ESPN games watched one day at a time cost $19.96 in day passes, against $31.99 for a month of ESPN Unlimited, and a month of FOX and CBS Sunday games comes to $28.98 for Sling Select and Paramount+ together. Those sums use the list prices above, checked on 20 September 2026, and ignore the promotions that move them.
The guides and the providers disagree on price. MLive’s guide put Sling’s Select plan at $24.99 and, in the same piece, said Sling plans start at $19.99, while Syracuse.com put Sling at $49.99 on 9 September 2026. Sling’s own page showed Select from $19.99 and Orange at $45.99. Promotions move these numbers constantly, which is why we date every figure we quote.
Two limits matter. The day pass covers the ESPN-carried channels and not the FOX, ABC or NBC ones, and every price above is a US monthly rate before tax and add-ons. Paying for a plan buys carriage of a channel, not a guarantee that a particular fixture will be shown on it. The league’s ways-to-watch page names the network carrying each upcoming fixture, which is the quickest check before a month is paid for.
Free and near-free legal routes
No licensed outlet gives away premium live sport.
The free routes are broadcast television, a trial timed to a weekend, and day passes. An aerial is the only genuinely free one. ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC all put games on free-to-air channels, so a household with usable reception already holds a legal route to those fixtures.
Trials cover a weekend if they are timed well.
Fubo offered a trial of up to five days and DirecTV Stream five days in MLive’s guide, and both ask for a payment card when the trial starts. For ESPN-carried games the passes on sling.com are cheaper than any bundle: $4.99 for one day, $9.99 for three days and $14.99 for seven, and a weekend of college football on ESPN costs less than a month of the smallest Sling plan.
The league’s own NFL+ is a different product rather than a cheaper cable substitute. Its own page describes two tiers covering NFL RedZone, NFL Network, live game audio and game replays, and it does not carry the out-of-market Sunday afternoon games that Sunday Ticket exists for.
Where these routes stop working
Holding a channel is not the same as holding the right to show a particular game on it, and four limits catch people out.
Blackouts still exist. Rights are sold market by market, so a service can carry a network and still be barred from showing one of its fixtures where you live.
Out-of-market games need a package built for them. MLive’s guide suggests a VPN for Sunday afternoon games outside your market, and whether that is permitted depends on the terms of the service being used rather than on the tool.
Prices and catalogues change at borders. Rights are sold territory by territory, and the same fixture is licensed to a different broadcaster elsewhere. Every figure above is a US rate.
If you watch two games a season, a day pass beats every monthly plan listed above.
If NFL RedZone is the whole point, the cheap routes do not carry it: the add-ons MLive listed were $10.99 a month on Fubo, $14.99 on DirecTV and $11 on Sling.
