For a UAE travel ban check, the UAE government portal lists three routes: the Dubai Police financial-cases service, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s Estafser service, and a case inquiry through the UAE Public Prosecution. It names no single lookup that covers every emirate.
On 17 October 2026 we read the u.ae page, opened the Estafser form and compared the rival guides that rank. We entered no ID number. The Dubai Police page loaded blank for us, and the Public Prosecution and Ministry of Interior sites would not open in our browser, so those parts stay unconfirmed. This is general information, not legal advice.
| Channel | Covers | What it asks for | Our check, 17 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai Police financial-cases service | Dubai | Emirates ID (Wego); Emirates ID or passport number (YallaMotor) | Listed on u.ae; page loaded blank |
| Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Estafser | Abu Dhabi | A UID and a captcha | Form opened, not submitted |
| UAE Public Prosecution case inquiry | Cases, no emirate named | Not seen | Listed on u.ae; site would not open |
| Ministry of Interior website and app | All emirates, per YallaMotor | Emirates ID or passport number, per YallaMotor | Not on u.ae; site would not open |
UAE travel ban check, emirate by emirate
The u.ae page says a pending legal case in the UAE may lead to a travel ban. It points to the Dubai Police app and smart police stations, to Estafser, and to the Public Prosecution’s case inquiry.
For Dubai, the link on u.ae opens a Dubai Police page whose address ends in financial-cases. Wego describes the route as Individual Services, then Criminal Status of Financial Cases, with an Emirates ID number. Wego adds that a ban result means a visit to a station with an Emirates ID, a passport copy and an authority letter. We could not verify any of this because the page loaded blank.
For Abu Dhabi, the Estafser page on the Judicial Department’s site asks for a UID and a captcha, and nothing else. Wego calls the UID the unified number. Our visa status guide covers the GDRFA lookup that recovers a UID from a passport number.
For Sharjah, Ajman and the other emirates, u.ae gives only the Public Prosecution inquiry. We found no emirate-by-emirate list on it.
Where rival guides disagree
Two guides near the top of this search differ from each other, and from u.ae, on points that decide which channel you use.
- Coverage: Wego says no single nationwide lookup clears you everywhere. YallaMotor says the Ministry of Interior website and app check bans for all emirates. u.ae mentions no such service.
- Identifier: Wego names the Emirates ID number for Dubai. YallaMotor says an Emirates ID or a passport number works.
- Source: Wego credits a u.ae address with saying the online check covers Dubai financial cases. That address showed an empty page when we opened it, and the current u.ae page makes no such statement.
- Cost and hours: Wego calls the Dubai check free, YallaMotor says every official check is free, and YallaMotor lists office hours for GDRFA, Abu Dhabi immigration and Sharjah Police. u.ae gives neither, so we do not repeat them.
Treat u.ae as the baseline. The rest are claims to test on the official sites before you rely on them.
If a check shows a ban
The u.ae page advises checking, and solving anything that might stop a traveller at the immigration counters, before planning travel. It adds that a lawyer, the nearest immigration office or a police station can help.
Wego says a ban is removed only by a written order from the authority that issued it, such as a court or a prosecutor. We could not confirm that on an official page.
Some people only find out at the airport. In an August 2026 r/UAE thread asking what could lead to a travel ban, a top reply with 61 upvotes was short:
“Google Review, im not even kidding.”
– r/UAE, August 2026 (61 upvotes)
Another reply, with 16 upvotes, gave the second-hand version:
“Not my personal experience, but its been in the news several times. You file a bad google review, business owner files defamation case, while case is dragging, the person who put the google review has a travel ban.”
– r/UAE, August 2026 (16 upvotes)
Both are single accounts, and the second says so itself. Neither shows how often this happens.
What we could not confirm
Six points stay open after our reading, because the Dubai Police, Public Prosecution and Ministry of Interior pages did not open and no official page we could read answers them.
- What the Dubai Police financial-cases page asks for, and what its result screen says.
- Whether a passport number works on any official channel.
- Whether the Ministry of Interior offers a UAE-wide check.
- What the Public Prosecution inquiry asks for.
- Whether anyone outside the UAE can run a check.
- Which channel covers the emirates other than Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
We will add each as soon as an official page we can open states it.
Quick answers on the UAE travel ban check
How do I do a UAE travel ban check?
Use the channel for where your case would sit, per u.ae: Dubai Police for Dubai, Estafser for Abu Dhabi, or the Public Prosecution inquiry. There is no single lookup named for all emirates.
Can I check with a passport number?
u.ae does not say. YallaMotor says yes, and Wego names only the Emirates ID for Dubai. Estafser, which we opened, asks for a UID.
Is there one check for every emirate?
Not on u.ae. One rival guide says the Ministry of Interior covers all emirates, and another says no single lookup does. We could not open the ministry’s site to settle it.
Is Dubai on a travel ban list?
That mixes up two things. A personal travel ban follows a person’s own legal case, not a destination. For advice on countries, u.ae points to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs travel updates page.
Last checked on 17 October 2026. The Dubai Police page is the first one we will re-read once it opens for us.
