Dubai Run 2026 takes place on Sunday 22 November, with the start at 6:30 am on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Museum of the Future, according to the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) Dubai Run page. It is free but registration is required, and there are two routes: a 5km ending near Dubai Mall and a 10km ending at DIFC Gate.
We read DFC’s Dubai Run page and its FAQ on 16 October 2026. The registration site, dubairun.com, showed us a security check, so we cannot say whether registration is open. It is general information, not official advice.

Dubai Run 2026: date, start time and routes
Dubai Run starts at 6:30 am on 22 November. DFC’s FAQ says the start line closes at 8:00 am and the finish is at 9:00 am. It advises arriving in the slot you chose at registration.
Both routes start on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Museum of the Future. The 5km route ends at Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, near Dubai Mall, while the 10km route runs on to the DIFC Gate Building by Emirates Towers.
DFC calls Dubai Run a community event, not a timed race. It calls the 5km route suitable for a broad range of participants and the 10km route more suitable for experienced runners.
Registration, bibs and what to leave at home
Everyone must register, and adults register in their own name. DFC says each person registers individually and that a registration cannot be edited. To change route, cancel and register again. If you have already collected your bib, you must collect a new one.
Parents or guardians can register up to three children. Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult, and the parent accepts the waiver during registration.
Bibs and T-shirts are collected at Dubai Municipality 30×30 Fitness Village in Zabeel Park from 2 to 21 November. DFC says the times will go to registered participants. A friend can collect with the registration QR code. Nobody can take part without a bib.
- Large bags are not permitted.
- There are no changing rooms and no bag drop.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Strollers are allowed on the 5km route only.
- Toilets at the start and finish lines are limited.
Getting there and the road closures
DFC recommends the Metro because roads in and around the routes will be closed on 22 November. For the 5km route use Dubai World Trade Centre station, and for the 10km route use Emirates Towers station. Load the nol card or app with at least AED 15. Our Dubai metro fare guide covers fares and top-ups.
The FAQ carries one warning. Street-level access to Burj Khalifa station from the Dubai Mall side of Sheikh Zayed Road is closed for construction. DFC points people to Business Bay station instead.
Taxis have designated drop-off and pick-up points near the start lines. Parking is limited. Route maps with parking options will go to registered runners later, and our Dubai parking timings guide covers ordinary paid parking nearby.
Public transport is not affected by the closures and runs as normal, DFC says. It lists no closed roads or times and points to RTA’s social channels for updates.
What changed since 2025
Last year’s run was on 23 November 2025, and the Dubai Media Office reported a record 307,000 runners. Two published details differ from this year’s FAQ.
- Bib collection: Khaleej Times reported 3 to 22 November in 2025, with set daily hours. DFC’s 2026 FAQ gives 2 to 21 November and says times will follow.
- Children: Khaleej Times reported that under-13s had to be registered by an adult over 21, and that 13 to 21-year-olds needed parental consent. DFC’s 2026 FAQ speaks of under-18s, a parent’s waiver and up to three children per parent.
These come from two publications a year apart, so we cannot say which rules officially changed. For 2026, treat DFC’s FAQ as the source.
What runners say on Reddit
A November 2025 r/UAE thread about the run drew blunt views on who actually runs it, and the post itself, with 92 upvotes, put it this way:
“Dubai run was more of a photo shoot for most than a Dubai Run.”
– r/UAE, November 2025 (92 upvotes)
A reply with 81 upvotes drew a line between the two routes:
“Most 10km runners are serious, I’ve seen them in DIFC. While 5km are mostly for pictures.”
– reply in r/UAE, November 2025 (81 upvotes)
Both are single accounts about the 2025 run, and neither comes from DFC.
Where rival pages differ from the official FAQ
Two rival pages get the route ends wrong. One travel blog puts the 5km route on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Boulevard, where DFC names Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. The same blog says the 10km route starts and ends on Sheikh Zayed Road. An event listing says the same, while DFC says it ends at the DIFC Gate Building.
The travel blog also says registration had not opened when it was written and usually goes live in October. It gave no date, so we cannot use it to say where registration stands today.
What we could not confirm
Several practical points are left open by the pages we read, and we found no official answer to any of the five below.
- Whether registration is open now, because dubairun.com showed a security check.
- The 2026 bib collection hours.
- Which roads close, and when.
- The earliest arrival slot and the parking details.
- Whether the FAQ’s mentions of Dubai Ride in its bib and marshal answers are copy slips. We read them as Dubai Run.
For closures, DFC points to RTA’s social channels.
