Gulf Write for Us: Guest Posts on UAE, Travel and Business

Khaleej Weekly is an English-language guide to life, travel and business in the Gulf. Most readers find us through Google while trying to answer one practical question: what a Dubai fee or fine is, which official portal to use, how to get somewhere, whether a place is open, or how to choose a garage or a service provider.

Email us: hi@khaleejweekly.com

If you are looking for a UAE or Gulf site that accepts guest posts, this page covers what we publish, the three ways to work with us and how the process runs. If you have something useful to tell people who live in, visit or do business in the Gulf, or a product or service they would actually use there, we would like to hear from you.

What we publish

Everything we publish has to help someone living in, visiting or doing business in the Gulf. If a topic would never be searched by a Gulf reader, it does not belong here, however well it is written. Areas we are glad to take:

  • Living in the UAE: visas, Emirates ID, labour rules, leave, fees and fines, housing, with the official source named
  • Getting around: Dubai Metro, taxis, Salik, parking, Etihad Rail, airports and bus stations
  • Travel and places: parks, beaches, malls, museums, hotels, staycations and road trips across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman
  • Events and seasons: Ramadan, National Days, Global Village, festivals and sport in the Gulf
  • Cars and motoring: servicing, repairs, buying used, fuel prices, car care
  • Business and real estate: company setup, accounting, VAT and e-invoicing, property, relocation
  • Technology: gadgets, apps, connectivity and AI tools as they apply in the Gulf
  • Health and family: clinics, fertility, children’s activities, sourced to health authorities
  • Lifestyle, food and shopping: cafes, restaurants, malls, souks, beauty and fashion
  • Gulf news and culture: official announcements, entertainment and sport

We do not accept anything a Gulf reader would not search for, and we do not accept these topics even with a Gulf angle: gambling, adult content, CBD or cannabis (including growing it), crypto, loans or forex, VPNs, vaping, prescription or weight-loss drugs, essay writing services and dating.

Brands and services that fit

Your business does not have to be a media business. It has to touch something a Gulf reader deals with, so there is a natural reason for the article. These are the angles that work best:

If your business is not on this list but still touches life, travel or business in the Gulf, send it anyway. We will tell you whether we can find a natural angle.

Three ways to work with us

1. Send us your link and anchor text. You do not have to write anything. Send us your target URL (the page on your own site the link should point to) and your anchor text. We choose a topic that fits both your site and ours, write a new article around it and add the images. Then we add internal links from our existing related articles to this new article (these links point to the new article; it does not link out to them). That inbound linking helps Google discover and index the page faster and strengthens the article’s authority on our site. If your site is too far from the Gulf and the topics above to find a natural fit, we cannot take it.

How option 1 works

1You send your target URL and anchor text
2We choose a topic that fits both your site and ours
3We write a new article and add the images
4We add internal links from related posts on our site to this new article (inbound links that help indexing and authority)
5It goes live and we send you the link

2. Add your link to an existing article. We find a published article on our site that fits your page, write a new paragraph for it, and place your link in that paragraph.

3. Send us your article. You write it, we review it. Expect substantial changes. We check the facts, the sources and the usefulness of every article, and to make it fit the site we may rewrite sections, restructure it, cut parts we cannot verify and change the title before it goes live. Articles usually run 800 to 1,200 words. The article must be original and not published anywhere else.

Each option includes one dofollow link to your site. Links to the official sources an article cites (government portals, regulators, manufacturers) do not count toward it.

Our editorial standards

  • Facts need sources. Rules, fees and fines are checked against the official portal, such as MOHRE, ICP, GDRFA, RTA or the Dubai Land Department and their equivalents in other Gulf states. Health claims are checked against the health authorities and car claims against manufacturer documents. Anything we cannot verify comes out.
  • Figures carry a date. Fees, opening hours and rules change, so an article says when a figure was checked. If you send your own text, send the source for every price, fee or claim in it.
  • The reader comes first. An article has to answer a real question a Gulf reader would ask. Thin, spun, mass-generated or keyword-stuffed content is declined.
  • Links have to fit. Your link should point to a page that is relevant to the article and sit where a reader would find it useful. The anchor text has to read naturally in the sentence.
  • We edit. We may change the title, structure, wording and images. If an idea does not suit the site, we will suggest a different angle or decline it.

How it works

  1. Email us your target URL and anchor text, plus your article, your topic idea or the kind of page you would like your link on.
  2. We review it and reply with a plan: whether we can take it, which article it goes into and where the link will sit.
  3. Once you approve the plan, we usually publish within 12 hours and send you the live link.

Before you write to us

What should I put in my first email?

Your website address, the page you want the link to point to and your anchor text, plus your article, a topic idea or the kind of page you would like the link on. That is enough for us to check fit and send a plan.

Can I choose the anchor text and the page we link to?

Yes. The anchor text has to read naturally in the sentence and the page has to be relevant to the article. If it does not fit, we will suggest a different page or wording.

My business is not based in the Gulf. Can we still work together?

Often, yes, if what you sell or do touches life, travel or business in the Gulf: a brand that ships to the UAE, a visa or travel service, software used by Gulf companies, a car part sold in the region. We look for the Gulf angle first and propose a topic. If there is no natural fit, we will say so rather than force one.

Do you only cover the UAE?

Most of our articles are about the UAE, which is where most of our readers search from. We also publish on Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, so a topic from another Gulf country can fit.

How many links do I get?

One dofollow link to your site, whichever of the three options you choose. Links to the official sources an article cites do not count toward it.

Can I see examples of what you publish?

Yes. When we reply, we will include links to published articles close to your topic.

Will you publish an article that is already live somewhere else?

No. Articles must be original and not published anywhere else. Spun or mass-generated text is declined.

Will you change my article?

Yes. If you send your own article, expect substantial edits to the facts, structure, title and images. We cut anything we cannot verify.

Do you publish press releases?

We can, when the news is useful to a Gulf reader, such as an opening, a launch, an event with dates or a change to a service. We check the facts and may rewrite it as an article rather than post it word for word.

How long does it take, and what does it cost?

After you approve our plan, we usually publish within 12 hours. We do not list prices on this page; pricing and payment details come in our email reply.
