Messilah Beach is the most famous beach in Kuwait, due to its long sandy coastline. It’s the pioneer and biggest public beach in Kuwait. Stretching over 70,000 square meters area along the Gulf coast. The melon first popped its crown in 1986 when it was modernized in 2023. It was modulated and restarted in 2025. Currently, it is managed by UPAC and has become a favorite spot in Kuwait for families.

This beach is located at Al Messilah area of Kuwait city and it has a very short ride from Salmiya. It is easily found from the Gulf Road and Shoab junction. The geographical coordinates are 29.2777° N, 48.0891° E.

Its central position allows you to reach it from any part of Kuwait. The trip is quick as the beach is only about 15-20 minutes’ drive from Al-Shaab Al-Bahri. While the airport is also about 20 minutes by car.

Kuwait City center is quite a distance from Beach or the airport, so it is better to follow these simple steps:

• Go along Gulf Road to Salmiya
• Look for Jumeirah Messilah Hotel
• Turn right on Al-Ta’awon Street just before the hotel
• Continue along the road indicated by street signs until you reach the parking area on the beach

On a good day without traffic, you will get there in 15 to 20 minutes

Public Transport Options

The bus route 14 that starts from the Mirqab area downtown passes through Messila stop. The route goes through places like Darwazah, Shaab Roundabout, and Salmiya Garden. Additionally, all other buses such as no.24 and 34 are also going to the same areas. The trip takes 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

There is no entry fee in this beach. These are provided for free at the beach facilities entrance:

• Entry to all four swimming pools
• Children’s play areas (indoor and outdoor)
• Beach areas for swimming and sunbathing

• Covered parking facilities for 340 cars

The Beach facility consists of two kinds of swim areas. The coast which is characterized by smooth and shallow waters in the Gulf is children’s friendly.
