June – August

September – October 

This is the time when the shift begins. The heat starts coming down. Tourist places are not very crowded during these times. So you can plan a trip on a budget during these months.

You can also divide the climate according to region. It goes like this

  • In Muscat and the Coastal North, the weather is different in seasons. It’s warm, dry and breezy during winter. In summer, it’s humid. You can visit here in December to enjoy beaches and Islands. 
  • Wahiba Sands has high-temperature during summer. The winters are mild so temperature at night is cool. You can plan desert camping in winter. 
  • The Al Hajar Mountains are cooler all year round than the other parts. Best time to visit these places are spring season. You can go for hiking and rose harvesting in spring.
  • Visit Salalah and Dhofar during the Khareef season. These are ideal places to explore. The monsoon goes from June to September. These rain showers bring lush greenery.
